About the Position

As a researcher focusing on quantitative analysis at the Swedish Agency for Cultural Analysis (Kulturanalys), you will participate in the work with national cultural statistics and the agency's other assignments. This may involve working with various aspects of cultural statistics, such as statistics on museums, performing arts, visual arts, cultural expenditures, or cultural habits, or within the investigations the agency conducts in the cultural field.

The role of the researcher includes the following main tasks:

  • Data collection, processing, and compilation of data, as well as writing statistical reports.
  • Contacts with data providers, coordination of reference groups, and collaboration with authorities and interest organizations in the cultural field.
  • Contribute to quality assurance by providing and receiving feedback on statistical publications and other reports at various stages.
  • Project management.
  • Presentation and communication of reports.

The work is project-based and involves close collaboration with other employees at the agency. In some projects, you will be the project manager, while in others, you will be a project member. Some of the work is carried out within the framework of Kulturanalys Norden. At Kulturanalys, we primarily use the SAS statistical program for analysis and data processing.

The position is a full-time temporary position with a start date no earlier than January 7, 2026, or as agreed, and will continue until further notice, but no later than November 30, 2026.

The workplace is located in fine office premises at the World Culture Museum at Korsvägen in central Gothenburg.

Travel may occur in the position.

About You

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has

  • a degree in statistics or social sciences with extensive quantitative content
  • experience working with statistics
  • strong experience in data collection, processing, and analysis, as well as good programming skills in a statistical program
  • experience in presenting statistical results in writing
  • excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have

  • experience working with register data
  • experience working in the SAS statistical program
  • experience working with official statistics
  • good knowledge of the cultural field
  • experience working in and leading projects
  • experience working in the public sector.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Personal Qualities

To succeed in your work, you need to be meticulous and analytical, as well as have excellent communication skills in both speech and writing. You should be responsible, flexible, and able to independently plan and execute your tasks on time and with high quality. Good collaboration skills and openness to different perspectives and viewpoints are valued.

About the Swedish Agency for Cultural Analysis

Kulturanalys is a government agency tasked with evaluating, analyzing, and reporting the effects of proposals and implemented measures in the cultural field. We are also tasked with assisting the government with data and recommendations to develop state cultural policy. We are a statistics-responsible authority with responsibility for most of the official statistics in the cultural field.

In addition to the national assignment, the agency has been commissioned by the Nordic Council of Ministers to run Kulturanalys Norden - a Nordic knowledge center for cultural policy. This assignment includes promoting and coordinating cultural statistics in the Nordic countries.

We are a small agency with 14 employees with academic backgrounds in various fields who work closely together.
